Giants’ Shoulders #30 is out

December 16, 2010

When the work is done and the holidays are here you can settle down and read some excellent history of science whilst those chestnuts are roasting and the wine is mulling courtesy of the the (Scientific) Christmas Carol edition of the Giants’ Shoulders Blog Carnival (#30) now out at The Ghost of William Whewell.

A big thanks goes to Rebekah ‘Becky’ Higgitts who under stressful circumstances has put together a wonderful edition to close the year.

The 31st edition of the Giants’ Shoulders is on the 16th of January 2011 at a venue that you could determine by becoming the host; just contact Dr SkySkull at Skulls in the Stars or Thony C. at the Renaissance Mathematicus, submissions as usual by the 15th of January at Blog Carnival Com.

Dr. SkySkull adds: Thanks to Rebekah!  The next edition is now tentatively scheduled to be hosted at Morning Coffee Physics by Jasper Palfree.  Submissions can be sent directly to the host or through blogcarnival.com, though as of this posting blogcarnival is down!   We still need more hosts for future editions, so please volunteer!!!

Six, five, four, three…

December 10, 2010

There are only six days left until A (Scientific) Christmas Carol the special 19th century science edition of Giants’ Shoulders (#30) at Whewell’s Ghoston 16th December. That means you have just five days to make your submission either direct to Rebekah Higgitts at Whewell’s Ghost or to the Blog Carnival site. As always submissions on other history of science topics are more than welcome.

Giants’ Shoulders also needs hosts for 2011 so if you wish to present the best history of science carnival south of Alpha Centauri then contact DrSkySkull (aka gg) at Skulls in the Stars or Thony C. at The Renaissance Mathematicus.
